Recruitment Guide
Characters from other houses, as well as faculty members, can be recruited.
Overview of Recruitment
After you choose your house, you will automatically recruit every character in that house. From there, you can poach students from other houses by impressing them with your knowledge and ability (your stats and skill ranks). You can also start recruiting faculty members once Byleth reaches a high enough level and you are far enough in the game.

Character Recruitment Requirements
In general, the students will want you to have a skill rank of either D, C, B, or B+, and a stat value of either 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30. Gaining support levels will decrease the skill rank requirement by a set value, and will also decrease the stat requirement by 20% (more information in the next section). All students will join you if you have an A support or higher with them, regardless of skill ranks and stats. Faculty members on the other hand will agree to join you once you reach a certain chapter and a certain Byleth level.
The following tables list the recruitment conditions for every unit at each support level (None/C/C+/B/B+). This information is also available on each character's page.

* Hilda can only be recruited to Black Eagles if Silver Snow is chosen. If Silver Snow is chosen, she can only be recruited in Chapter 12, and you will not able to build support with her through lost items and gifts until then.
Faculty Members
In general, faculty members can be recruited when you reach a certain chapter and/or Byleth reaches a certain level. Certain faculty members will either leave or refuse to join if you choose the Crimson Flower route. The table below lists the faculty members in order of earliest possible recruitment. Note that the same 20% discount per support level is applied to the level requirement as well.

Support Levels
The effect of support levels on recruitment requirements.
Lowering Requirements
As you build support between Byleth and other units, they will become easier to recruit. As you progress between the support levels of C, C+, B, and B+, the skill rank requirement and the stat value requirement will be lowered. Byleth does not have C+/B+/A+ supports with any recruitable units, but the game considers units to have these plus support levels as long as they have enough points to reach the threshold. These values are listed in the Support Points guide. You can also see whether or not Byleth has achieved C+/B+/A+ support level using the Dining Hall "Sharing a Meal" interface. Once Byleth reaches an A support with a unit, they can be recruited regardless of stats or skill ranks, but faculty members will still keep their chapter requirement.
Automatic Recruitment
If you have attained a support level of B or higher with a unit, that unit will have a 10% chance of asking to join your class during the week. Whether or not you have reached the necessary stat and skill requirements do not affect the chances in this method of recruitment.
You can easily save scum for any units that you want to recruit using this method. Whether or not a unit will ask to join you is determined when the week begins, so you can simply save on a free day, go through the week, and reset if your desired unit didn't recruit themselves.
Effect on Skill Ranks
The skill rank requirements are lowered by a set amount depending on the support level. Characters will only ever require a skill rank of D/C/B/B+. The values are listed below.

Effect on Stat Values
With every support level you gain, the stat value requirement will lower by 20% of the original requirement. Characters will only ever require a stat value of 10/15/20/25/30 The values are listed below.
