Shamir Nevrand

Church of Seiros

Shamir Nevrand

Overview

Shamir is one of the Knights of Seiros, a master of the bow who was previously a mercenary. She is not a believer of the Church of Seiros, although this is tolerated by the Church. She has a blunt and straightforward personality, in both expressing her thoughts as well as in the way she battles- doing what she is required of. She is cold in battle, but outside she is plagued with doubts and worry.

Shamir's paralogue is Sword and Shield of Seiros.

Overall

Shamir can be recruited as soon as Byleth reaches level 15, and she cheats the class system by joining as a level 11 Sniper. This allows her to have much earlier access to Hunter's Volley than other units, making her a very strong player phase combat unit. Having access to a guaranteed double attack on the player phase is often more than enough to make up for her mediocre speed.

To further increase her player phase effectiveness, it is good to master Brigand for Death Blow and Archer for Hit +20. Since Shamir will always double thanks to Hunter's Volley, Death Blow will essentially increase her damage output by 12. Hit +20 is needed for her to hit reliably from further ranges.

Shamir joins as a Sniper, a class she wants to master as soon as possible. During this time, it is best to set at least one of her goals to be Axes, which will allow her to class into Brigand (D+ rank Axes is enough) to quickly gain access to Death Blow. With Hunter's Volley and Death Blow, Shamir will already be an incredibly effective player phase combat unit. After Brigand is mastered, Shamir can easily class into Archer for a bit to get Hit +20. From there, Shamir only really needs to be trained in Bows and Authority. Shamir is one of the only units who can reasonably reach S+ in any skill (Bows) without heavy grinding, giving her the rare ability to equip two relevant Faire abilities (Bowfaire). Depending on how much you value Battalions, Shamir can solely focus on Bow rank once she reaches B in Authority.

Late game, Shamir will be able to reliably one round all non-armored units. She will even be able to deal with enemy Falcon Knights on the player phase, since even one hit of Hunter's Volley is enough to kill them. Overall, Shamir is the most optimized Sniper in Three Houses thanks to her prepromote status. She will be an excellent fighter throughout the game from the moment she is recruited, and does not require much investment to be effective.

Supports

Shamir can build support with the following characters.

Recruitment

Shamir can be recruited once Byleth reaches level 15. The player must choose the "Recruit" option when talking to her at the monastery starting from Chapter 6. If the Black Eagles route is chosen, she will join you automatically at Ch. 12 if the player allies with the church.

The 20% discount per support level is also applied to the level recruitment condition. See the Recruitment Guide for more information.

As far as mercenaries go, I'd say I work for a fair price.
