This guide contains the following information.

At the start of every week, the player can personally instruct their students to improve their skill levels. This instruction time is the main way to quickly grow a unit's skill level. The only catch is that Byleth themself cannot gain any skill experience here.

The player can either choose to instruct manually, or to let the game take over and instruct automatically. Unless you're feeling extremely lazy, it's always better to instruct manually, since it gives you full control. Letting the game instruct automatically will select random units and instruct them in skills that relate to their current class.

The number of students that the player can instruct each week is limited by the number of Lecture Points. Similar to Activity Points and Battle Points, the player will gain more Lecture Points as their professor level increases. The following table shows how many Lecture Points the player has to work with at each professor level.

At the beginning of each week, the player can set goals in up to 2 skills (per student) for their students for that week. Then, at the end of the week, each student will gain a significant of skill experience in their goal skills. If a student only has one skill set, the amount of skill experience gained will be increased by a factor of 1.5x.

The amount of experience gained from goals changes based on whether the student is proficient, neutral, or struggles at the skill in question. It also varies based on the game's difficulty level. The following table illustrates the differences.

Each week, the player can assign two students to perform a group task together. There are three options for group tasks, each linked to a specific skill.

The rewards from the three group tasks are the same, only differing in which skill each gives experience for. Rewards will also changed based on how well your students performed in the task. There are two levels of performance, "Good" and "Perfect". Characters with a boon in the required skill will have a higher chance of getting "Perfect", whereas characters with a bane will have a lower chance. The table below shows the different reward levels.

During the first week of each month, a random student will approach the player with a question. There are three different responses to this question, each eliciting a different reaction from the student. If they love your answer, they'll gain 2 points of motivation, and you'll earn a lot of professor experience. If they hate your answer, you'll still gain some professor experience, but the student won't gain any motivation. If your answer is so-so, they will gain 1 point of motivation and you'll gain some professor experience.

The amount of professor experience you gain for your answer depends on what your current professor level is. The higher your level goes, the more you will gain. Choosing the best answer will also increase the amount of professor experience gained by 20%. The exact values are listed below.
